http://publicdomainremix.wordpress.com/

I’ve created a new blog that is located at http://publicdomainremix.wordpress.com/

I know, I promised to only have this blog, but I can’t help but wanting to create new blogs for various purposes, while keeping this main blog from being a spam trap type of thing. The new blog at http://publicdomainremix.wordpress.com/ is mainly going to be used to locate, use, and remix various public domain video, images, audio, text, and other interesting things. The public domain is a very wide arena that has a bunch of potential for a lot of different things in my opinion, and I want to start exploring that wide and crazy world of public domain remixes. I have a lot of ideas on where to go with that.

The other main blog that I maintain currently, if you have not figured it out yet (since it’s linked over in widget to the right) is http://www.mastermesh.wordpress.com. That’s where I keep my delicious.com bookmarks backed up. I like posting those to a blog since I bookmark a ton of different places.

Lefty Sketch/Doodle Book idea…

When I’m at work, I scribble notes from phone calls, etc. in a notebook that’s next to me all day long. Many times, I doodle out various stuff in the margin, just like anyone else does in any classroom across the country on any given day… Similarly, I have MS Paint up all day and doodle in it sometimes on breaks…

I cannot do the MS Paint thing and concentrate on other things at my job as well, but might be able to do something like that with the sketchpad/notebooks more then I have in the past… since the notepad is on my left sitting on a desk, and my right hand is constantly using a mouse to do various things at work all day…

so… one thing I’m thinking about doing is keeping tons of ink pens on hand to doodle silently as I work away. It won’t be masterpieces, but just various oddball images, etc. It’s something I’ve never done much of in the past, but think there might be possibilities here for a lot of various things. It won’t break my concentration on my job tasks etc…

I have color pencils at work too, but won’t use them too much for this sort of thing, even though I use color pencils on breaks sometimes, because color pencils are too loud, and disturbs the concentration of those around me.

Just seems that there is 40 hours a week that I’m not doing art stuff that’s more or less being wasted, at least artistically (even if it does pay the bills). Want to fix that problem and start doing more art without loosing concentration or focus on what I’m really there 40 hours a week to do. It is possible to multitask – and many times I’m doing that subconsiously anyways as things play around in my brain all day long – maybe it’s time for me to take that to the next level.

new goals and organized life…

I’m going to try to get organized in my life again. I’ve created a daily spreadsheet that I will try to write too and check off as I go along that lists all the stuff I should be doing daily. Included in the list are
– walking the dog in the morning
– walking on morning break
– inhaling lunch and doing something creative during the last part of lunch breaks
– walking on afternoon breaks
– walking the dog in the afternoon after work – maybe ride a bike with the dog if I don’t walk him… possibly working up to 5 miles on the MKT trail someday?…
– working out for at least half an hour nightly either at the YMCA, with a workout video, on the wii, riding a bike, on a jump rope, or doing some other form of excercise for at least half an hour
– working on updating online places – this blog, turbosquid, entropia universe stuff, entropiaforum stuff, and whatever else needs to be updated…
– doing at least one chore a night (one chore is something like a load of laundry, mowing, working on organizing the basement, working on organizing the attic, dusting, cleaning one room of the house, working on a 3d project, working on a 2d project)

I like doing little organized excel or google document spreadsheets like this to keep myself organized. I used to do this sort of thing for 24 hour schedule back in college and a couple of years after that, when I was still in shape, healthy, and had a lot of ambitions… Well, it’s time to get my ambitions and goals set again, and not just continue to let myself be an out-of-shape old man… Time to be young, healthy, wealthy, and wise again…

Time to actually stop being a lazy bum with no direction in my life. The time has come, today is the first day in the rest of my life… an organized, orderly, and fulfilling life. A life full of vigor and life. A life worth living to the fullest!

Happy Wednesday.

Feeds…

There’s a few feeds that will start showing up here in this blog today thanks to Twitterfeed and PingFM. The ones that I’m adding today are Entropia Gateway – the official blog of Entropia Universe, Atlas Haven Radio’s Tweets – which is Atlas Haven Radio’s Twitter Tweets, and Satteliteguys.us’s Tweets too. I also added a link to CGW’s recent articles because I like to read them and log in here at my own blog more than often than I have time to read their website all the time.

The reason that I’m adding these is that I personally like to follow stuff like this and think a lot of other folks do too if they are reading this blog. Each of these postings has a short url at the end that can take you to the original source, so no, this is not splog or copyright infringment or whatever… If these folks did not want people following their info, they would not have put together nice RSS Feeds to make this sort of stuff possible. Right now, even though there are ads on this blog, I’m not making any money off of them. I consider this to be a personal blog, not a commercial blog, even though it’s about showing you my interests, hobbies, etc.

Atlas Haven Radio Feed Posts will be prefixed as AHR:
Entropia Gateway’s Feed Posts will be prefixed as E.Gate:
Satelliteguys Blog Feed Posts will be prefixed as S.Guys:
Computer Graphic World’s Article Feeds will be prefixed as CGW:

I’m trying to keep the prefixes short since tweets are already pretty limited in how long they can be, and the prefix only makes the tweets even shorter. Hopefully they are still long enough to be useable.

Happy reading.
